The World's News - Journey through the fields of broken dreams in the global economic arena

Why are people angry

August 19th 2009 01:02
Ray Tapajna - Our economic "ministry"

Why is America so angry? Is it just about health care issues or is there more? When was the following published

Based on Thoughts at Press Time - From- For the People - by Chuck Harder - more than ten years ago. Much of the same applys today.

The USA was built on the premise of a thirty year mortgage. Youngsters graduated from High School or College and expected their piece of the " American Dream." Minimum expectations were to own the average house, be able to afford a family, have a good job, decent living standards, safe neighborhoods, and retirement with dignity. After all, Mom and Dad had exactly that. ( However, in recent years many Moms and Dads lost everything too being surprised by too many things in the economic world. Elderly bankruptcies have broken records. ) Little did both generations know that something was changing.

The power elite on Wall Street cooked-up a scheme to funnel wealth of the middle class into their vaults. It started with a concocted oil embargo that generated countless billions of profits flooded the New York banks with anxious Middle East oil money. The bankers then routed the money into third-world countries expecting another bonanza. The plan bombed. Instead the "emerging nations" were unable to pay off the loans. Another method of getting the money back for Wall Street was hatched in the 80s. Smoke-and-mirrors would hide this vicious plan from the American people and the bankers loved it. ( A must read that tells more about this story is The Confessions of an Economic Hit Many by John Perkins. )

The plan was simple: move factories from the USA to the third-world debtor nations, employ cheap labor, bring the finished goods back to America and extract loan payments through extra manufacturing profits. Our government quietly agreed. All was well until the hotshot newcomers on Wall Street, the junk-bond boys caught on.

BINGO, they could float junk bonds to raise millions, buy a company with an established product line, mover the factory offshore, and pay those bonds back with savingsby using slave labor. Result: Get the company for FREE! This created a whole new gang of competitors and screwed up the original disaster plan.

It was too late. Cities and towns were soon dying across the USA. Hundreds made billions as America went broke! Media disguised the disaster by calling it "Free Trade."

U.S. Government agencies hastened the process with agencies such as Overseas Private Investment Corporations (OPIC) and Aid for International Development (AID) put everday folks in America out of work.

This story goes back to Richard Nixon moving the TV industry to Asia, accelerated with Jimmy Carter, the the Reagan and Bush years with Clinton following down the same path. ( President Obama has taken the baton in our times. )

Today, the inner-cities that once were the muscle of manufacturing are dying, kids can'f afford families, crime is rampant and the standard of living as crashed. ( Workers at places like Wal Mart need government assistance to survive. ) ( In the inner city in Cleveland Ohio , I serviced many large family owned super markets without any fear. Now all those super markets have vanished and where I once traveled withe ease with a van full of products, it is not safe even during the day time hours. You can drive miles of major streets that once were full of business now looking like a third world country with boarded up store fronts and empty factories.) And still our political leaders call for more of the same. President Obama does not even mention any of this as the cause of our economic crisis. )

And finally, the "little people" are finding out they have been taken to the cleaners and they are asking who said we had to compete like this in a global economic arena? We do not need any conspiracy theories related to organizations like the CFR etc to know that Globalization and Free Trade have not evolved in any natural economic fashion and have been driven by powerful forces outside the will of the people and outside of any democratic process. It is self-evident.

Today people are finally finding out what has happened . At Tapsearch Com Flat World, we trace more of the history going back to 1956 when our own U.S. Federal Government started moving the factories outside the USA and called it Free Trade.
