Can you hear me now! Those who ignore the past, will repeat it over and over again President Obama still does not talk about Free Trade and Globalization as the major causes of our economic crisis and still ignores the Trade Deficit which adds up to the lost of trillions of dollars since 1994.
Trickle down economics all over again - Back to the Future
If one counts all the over - 18 adults who are healthy and not in any school, medical institutions or jail ( our prisons population is one of the fastest growing sectors in the USA)- and who thus could be working, but are not, one finds that almost half the country's human capacity is not being used. Get America Working- Ashoka 1996
One wonders how the U.S. can have such a low unemployment rate for the past many years while the streets of USA tell a different story.
Reportedly, The Bureau of Labor Statistics collect their data this way.
The Bureau of Labor Statisitics unemployment data is based on monthly interviewing in 50,000 households with occupants over the age of 16. Those occupants are asked if they were looking for work in a certain week in the previous month. If they say yes, they are considered unemployed. If they say no, they are not considered unemployed een if they have no job.
How can President Obama hope to restore the economy if he does not tell it like it is about the questionable unemployment reporting that has been in effect for years.
President Obama is President Reagan's trickle down economy all over again. However instead of trickling down from way up in the Capitalist private sector world, it is now trickling down from way high up in the Government public sector side as President Obama bails out big money and the financial communities while workers scrounge for work.
What do you think is the actual unemployment rate?
What do you thinks is the actual underemployment rate especially since only about 38 percent of all workers in the USA qualify for unemployment insurance?
How many casual labor, contract, temporary and part-time workers get any kind of unemployment insurance ? How are they counted when they lose these jobs?
