The Cleveland Plain Dealer like many other major newspapers hide from reporting about the failures of free trade. With free trade being a major cause of our economic crisis in the U.S. Why do our newspapers hide from this story.
Free trade has failed!
To the editors of our city's only newspaper.....
Millions of private sector workers have lost their good paying jobs with very little chance of ever finding anotheNot until newspapers like the Plain Dealer starts telling the whole story will there be any hope for our city and our nation. In fact, the story is a vital one for the survival of newspapers too.
Ohio Governor John Kasich is part of the problem instead of the solution. He is a globalist free trader money changer who played a major role in the destruction of our middle class. He helped install free trade and joined the elite grouping that tried to create something out of nothing with new "money products." Free trade created a massive new working poor class that is now evolving into a vast underclass.
I worked in several factories while going to college and made decent money. If these jobs were available today thousands would be standing in line to get them including college graduates. There would still be many stories about public workers sacrificing high paying jobs to serve society. Now it's the other way around. Public workers still enjoy good paying jobs while private sectors workers are now part of the working poor class.
Public workers should never been allowed to have unions since their employers are the people. However, they now represent the last line of resistance to a landslide fall of our economy. Now we have someone like Governor Kasich using tax money to create private sector jobs at the expense of cutting down wages and jobs in the publich sector. This makes no sense.
In my career, I was on management side in union negotiations. During one strike, a striker stroked a burning 2x4 by my head. Growing up in our family food store, union drivers and suppliers made twice as much as our whole family and as a young teenager, I asked several how they expected this to all work out. Union were arrogant in those days and everyone knew that things would have to change. However, no matter how you look at it, everyone including non union workers were better off than they are now.
Plantation owner mentality
Economic Cancer
It was years ago that free trade caused the downfall of unions. Only 15 percent of the AFL CIO were production workers members. About 50 percent were government workers. And so, we knew many years ago that this was a forecast of things to come. People like Gov. John Kasich just kept going without any hesitation down the road to economic chaos. They continued to live off the suffering of the defeated middle class. When the value of workers and labor is deflated, everything else is affected. President Roosevelt said economic diseases are highly communicable. Now these desease are an economic plague.
Conservatives joined the Liberals in a new Plantation Owner mentality. They come from different directions but the results are the same. They pontificate from high above about what is right for the working poor and the wage slaves of the world. Workers obviously have no voice in the process except to go after one another for the sake of survival. This comes after the U.S. gave away its technology to the world and to countries like China. This technology took generations to develop and was given away in less than one generation. It turned out to be an economic cancer. And as long as newspapers like the Plain Dealer fail to report this story, there is no hope.
