The World's News - Journey through the fields of broken dreams in the global economic arena

Same old cover story about jobs.

December 13th 2009 18:22
The mortgage crisis reveals much more than people buying homes they could not afford. The major news channels fail to report the whole story. The untold story is about jobs - lost jobs or underemployment. Further, the unemployment rate reporting is flawed and no one seems to want to challenge the data.

Our editorial cartoon below was first published in 1994 at the time NAFTA and GATT trade agreements were passed. President Bush was added in 2001 riding shotgun. Now we put in President Obama plays the biggest role in bailing out those who caused the economic crisis .

President Clinton, Senator Dole, Congressman Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, President Bush and now President Obama are all one in the betrayal of American Workers and for that matter - workers dignity worldwide

Obama joins the bombing of workers
Pearl Harbor attack on workers continues with Pres Obama joining the attack

Most people lose their homes because they lost the job they had when they got their mortgage and either did not find another one or a job that paid the same. Economists measure many things but leave out the important data. It would seem a very relative economic measurement sould be data about how many lost their homes due to lost of job. Following this should be data about how long does a person keep a job. Following this is to have data surrounding another measurement. Only 40 percent of all workers in the United States qualify for unemployment insurance. The other 60 percent do not have enough months one one job or they do not make enough money in any given period to qualify. At the same time, a person making only a $100 a month is reported as employed. In the past, unemployment reporting was related to the unemployment office reports but since so few qualify for unemployment insurance, the unemployment rate is gathered from other sources instead. In the past we also had reports about underemployment but this term is fading away since most people seem to be underemployed.

Getting America Working association reported years ago that only 50 percent of U.S. human resources are being used.

Where is the data about the 50 percent of workers who are not being used at full capacity?
Where is the date about the 60 percent that due not qualify for unemployment insurance?
Why does the major news channels leave out this information and why do they not offer a disclaimer when the report about the rate relating to those getting or ending their unemployment insurance since they are only talking about 40 percent of all workers?

And what happens when a person uses up their unemployment insurance and start reporting income or wages of only a $100 a month. According to economic measurements, they now have a job and are considered employed.

Also, millions of Americans are now living in a silent depression that goes unreported too.
The economists do not measure things like this.
