Ok, Ok, I'm not trying to be callous. But is Anna Nicole's death really international news, day after day?
It's a tragedy. If not for her but for her poor daughter who is now going to be the subject of endless stories regarding the identity of her real father.
Can you imagine how screwed up this poor kid's going to be as time passes? Will we be hearing about her going into rehab when she's a tween? I hope not. And if the media weren't so fixated on the demise of her mother, no one would know she exists. Did her birth make news before her half brother died in a room down the hall? I can't recall. Her birth was unfortunately overshadowed by his methadone overdose. By the way, did anyone else know he died of methadone? I thought he was meant to be clean. I also heard that they found a big stash of methadone in Anna Nicole's fridge. The truth may never be told.
So let's put this story to bed. Let this headline be a forgotten one!

And in Australia, for those readers who live OS, we are being badgered with infighting between the two rival current affair shows: today tonight and aca.
neither of these shows are Pulitzer Prize winners. If they're not covering a story about neighbours who fight over noise levels and videotape each other, they're 'revealing' repeat offending scam artists or old ladies who don't throw anything away. So now they're fighting over who's telling the truth: Mercedes Corby or former family friend Jodie Power.
I don't know which is more disturbing, the way this has taken over the national airwaves (morning news, arvo news, evening news, radio and press) or the way the public gets sucked in, with everyone speculating who's telling the truth. At least five friends have asked me if I know what the news reports have said and who I think is telling the truth. Only Schapelle knows the truth, and if she's innocent, it hasn't done her any good thus far. Jodie looks to me like an opportunitist, even if she is revealing dark family secrets.
And wasn't Schapelle's brother has been done for crimes linked to drug use? But even if your brother is a pot-head, that doesn't guarantee that you are as well.
I guess it's ironic I'm writing about two stories that I don't think should make news. I guess I'm just adding fuel to the fire! I would like to see these stories replaced (until there are real news developments related) for some actual factual news.

To this day I do not know who Anna Nicole Smith is ... I know a bit about (is it Michelle? Corby? ... the hairdresser who hung the 'back in 20' sign on her salon door? ...
But to me? ... All this instant and disposable journalism? ... and tabloid stuff ... It's faddy ... Not into fads myself ... I can't avoid them completely ... I live on the net ... but I take such a minimal interest in it ...
I remember when Princess Diana died and the outpouring of grief from people all over the world ... and how Elton John's reworking of 'Goodbye Norma Jean' went No 1 ... and how Mother Theresa of Calcutta died the same week ... (and how this woman I know from Adelaide ... Chloe ... [complete tripper this woman ... owns a fashion store in Hyde Park with her partner Vlad called Chloe's and Vlads ... [yep totally creative ... * ... Anyway Chloe and Vlad were at the hotel that Dodo and Diana were at that 'oh-so-fateful night' for people with ordinary lives ??? ... that everyone has forgotten because someone else died this week??? ... *** ...
So Chloe ... true to form ... what does she do? She videos the Dodo and the 'so daunting, so very, very daunting' Dodo-ess coming out ...
So what happens? ... Oprah ... (the only real generous and compassionate soul in the world? ... pays to fly Chloe to the US to interview her for, um, humanitarian reasons? ... And ask her how her fashion shop in Adelaide is going with Vlad ??? ...
The media? Seriously ... You have to laugh ... Give me more Rob Sitch's in this life ... a few more Working Dogs who don't work ... more Kath and Kim ... more Media Watch and more Frontline thanks ...
Where the stuff was I going with this? ... (scroll up ... scroll down again ...
Oh, okay ... got it now ...
Next week? Or tomorrow? Someone else famous and wealthy will die ... and this Anna Nicole person ... and her daughter ... and her 8973945 husbands will be forgotten in an instant ...
(Just like the victims of the Pt Arthur assacre ... ??? ... Name one of them ... and tell me about how tragic their lives have been since that day ??? ...
All of the media 'superstars' out there??? Who are ... so so so so concerned ... (Nup ... can't get into this shit much ...

Today, I have to have a shower and a shave ... and go to the barbers... and get a haircut, and try and find a passport photo booth to have some photos taken ... That's what is important in my life today ... Not who the vaginal sperm donor was to this woman ... *
I can't spend my life looking through the obituary columns of the rich and famous when I'm never going to meet them and they're never going to impact on my life in one iota whatsoever ...
I'd rather spend my time writing a letter to the woman I love or just thinking about her .. than get embroiled in other people's lives ...

Tired of hearing about it and I make sure I hear very little. The Shapelle Corby fiasco is a fiasco, I'll let you draw your own conclusions, and the poor little baby girl, not destined for much of a life is she? Money does not mean happiness, better with an ordinary family.

The only good thing about all this info ???
that some ... many of us didnt need ...
is that hopefully more people will realise party animals shouldnt be celebrities and over use of any drug legal or not makes you STUPID!
People ditch theciggies and the ice and the crack and the pot and the heroin and the coffee and stick to tea or chocolate - in MODERATION !!!
I never did drugs ... I have an M.A. despite having a disability that allegedly makes academic work difficult ... and do I can rewarded for my efforts ... no I see money and attention and product sales and exclsuive contracts going to idiot bimbos and himbos!
Oh well maybe the next book will get an agent who likes SF humor and isnt looking to promote the next big thing ... I wish the next big thing was fractal art on Tshirts!!!
I'll be very glad when the Corby and Anna Nicole stories fade. VERY!!!
