The World's News - The hard facts about the the global economic arena

Free Trade is not trade. It is primarily about moving production from place to place anywhere in the world for the sake of cheaper labor. The value of workers and labor has been degraded and deflated. This represents trillions of dollars lost in the process

Public Workers jobs last stand for middle class

Public Sector Government Workers Jobs are under seige in the U.S.

It was just a matter of time until free trade boomeranged to take out more jobs in the U.S. In the name of cost-cutting to balance the budget, something has to be done as the U.S. tax base dwindles with a new working poor class and millions missing in action from any kind of real reporting, unable to pay for all the cost of government services. A few years ago, I read that the state of New Jersey sent the processing of welfare to India. When things like this happen, we need to know why and how. But the news media and political world, are in denial about it. No one points to free trade as being the major cause of our economic crisis. They blame the money products that free trade was supposed to bring us but ignore the core reason.

The government workers should have been concerned years ago. Everything was becoming obvious as more and more middle class workers lost their jobs. The new jobs being created were low paying ones and a vast new working poor class became a reality.

It is the wrong time to take out the government workers now because they do represent a last stand for the middle class wages in the USA. Those who have good paying jobs do not fully understand what happens when someone has to quickly downsize and move down to the working poor class. This is the main reason for millions going bankrupt and only a dwindling class of middle class workers are left to pay the toll for government services that are supposed to fill the void when Capitalism fails.

In our impoverished city - Cleveland, Ohio -, they have built a Wal-mart in the graveyard of the steel industry where thousands once enjoyed middle class wages. The jobs being created are by casino gambling. A once renowned department store which was once a part of a hub of massive business activity will now be a gambling casino. Gambling just moves what money there is from one place to another without ever seeding real added value that a local economy needs to survive. The casinos are coming after the tax base has been destroyed and city leaders keep thinking redevelopment based on construction projects.

Service workers and an underemployed class are swallowing their pride and you see middle age experience workers working at places like Wal-mart and other big box stores. Millions of these workers use government services to survive and the overhead has to be absorbed by other higher paid workers.

Which brings us to the government workers who still enjoy middle class jobs.
When I walk by teachers parking lots and see all the foreign cars, I wonder what logic they use keep doing what they are doing without expecting the boomrang of free trade to hit them.

Very few in the political arena, the news media and education, talk about it. Not much is said about free trade being the cause of our economic crisis and we have Democrat President Obama who follows in the footsteps of a Republican President Bush who followed Democrat President Clinton driving free trade to the ulimate. It is obvious free trade has failed the U.S., but they keep going at it. President Obama bailed out the globalist free traders and put them back in charge of the process. It is a endless road to no where.
