Cannibalized economy and shredded news

Cannibalized economies - chop up in a global economic arena with media shredding the real stories behind the mess.
In the military, an officer has to sign for equipment under his charge. He is responsible for it. When I was in the army, a young lieutenant was signing out after serving his tour of duty and found that a train locomotive was missing and could not be found. Later it was found that the locomotive was cannibalized for parts for several years and very little was left in the process.
This reminds me of our economy. Little by little, we cannibalized it and sent the pieces around the world.. The industrial revolution is not over, we still use and eat the things we always have, but everything seems to come from somewhere else in the world. Our government played a large part in this cannibalization by sponsoring the moving of factories and production outside the U.S. Now we are trying to find an economic locomotive to drive our economic train but it is no longer there.
Free trade represents the core of our economic crisis but the major media sources ignore the causes and effects. They limit their story range to a few short years and time intervals that do not match up with the overall scope of things.
We wrote many articles about the degradation process and most of our article could be published as happening in our times.
It all ends up the same way. You can not bite off the hand or chop off your head to feed the rest of the body.
