The World's News - The hard facts about the the global economic arena

Free Trade is not trade. It is primarily about moving production from place to place anywhere in the world for the sake of cheaper labor. The value of workers and labor has been degraded and deflated. This represents trillions of dollars lost in the process

No Room in Boat editorial art projected our economic crisis

No Room in the Boat for Workers

This editorial cartoon was first published in 1994 and is still getting many views on sites like Political Cartoon from Clinton era ( They have used some of our other sites and commentaries and we do not necessarily agree with their point of view but in general, the cartoon still applys today and we could have added both President Bush and President Obama in the boat.) Our economy is now a sinking ship.

No Room in Boat for workers
No life lines for workers back then or in 2009

The Clintons, Dole and Gingrich ( with Rush Limbaugh in the boat too ) pushed the passing of the unfair NAFTA and GATT free trade agreements in 1993. In fact the first stimulus package went to a foreign nation. President Clinton rushed billions of dollars to Mexico to save the peso soon after NAFTA was passed. None of this stop the flood of workers from Mexico to the USA seeking economic survival. Both major parties are still in the same boat when it comes to Globalization and Free Trade.

The sad part of it is that people seem to be accepting a lower standard fo living as a natural matter of course.

Workers have been fired instead of hired to add extra value to the stock market and other money products. Instead of correcting the problem, both President Bush and now President Obama bailed out big money. In fact, President Obama bailed out the financial markets instead of helping workers who have lost their jobs and who or are sinking deeper into the new working poor class if and when they find another job. Our economy based on making money on money instead of making things is fading away while our leaders keep bailing it out even though it is a sinking ship.
