Globalization still on the march by Ray Tapajna
About Globalization
In 1999, five days rocked the world as tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Seattle in protest of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Environmentalists, consumer advocates, labor unions, students, anarchists and pacifists all converged, bringing attention to how the WTO's laws were affecting democracy around the world.
The movie - Battle in Seattle - was released in 2008. It has a average rating of B- . It was a fragmented portrayal of the real world but it still revealed the surge of globalization in our times. The movie indicated that the WTO meetings were curtailed and portrayed this as a victory for the workers and small enterprises of the world. Unfortunately, the march of globalization - or you can call it globalism - was not stopped. It proved to be just a burb in history. Later get togethers by the elite globalist free trader powerful groups were separated from the masses with the workers having no voice in the process and most decisions are still made outside of any democratic process.
It has caused an economic crisis and yet it still goes on without much opposition. President Obama is a globalist free trader and chose to bail out the financial communities instead of helping those who lost their jobs with many losing everthing it took a life time to save. Still the beat goes on for more of the same. The very people who were responsible for the economic crisis are in charge of fixing the economy while our economies based on making money on money instead of making things are burning out.
President Obama and big government are bailing out big money with these bail outs acting as tariffs of human beings. Tariffs have been taken off products and put on human beings as workers and on future generations to come .
We will talk all about globalization and free trade on our next two posts. If you are deeply frustrated about the loss of your job or others who have lost everything. Take advantage of the free mailing service below and pass on these posts to friends and leaders in government, education and your friends. ( Attention: College students - write papers about it and confront educators who let this happen and even promoted it. )
